Sebastian Sauve has been making the headlines with his photographic reportage of fashion weeks and industry events he's attended, so we took the opportunity and edited a selection of thirty exclusive images from his latest adventures. The model ranked in the top fifty male models in models.com's industry list has been keeping pro-active with his photography skills, which you could follow up here.
He's also been working with young British artist Stuart Sandford on a new project titled, "Sebastian 2012" which will immortalise the model as an 8 feet statue. Taking its main inspirations from the Greco-Roman depictions of the youth Antinous, Michelangelo’s David and Charles Ray’s Boy with Frog, this project is both an exploration of contemporary representations of the masculine form and a comment on the icon and its place in contemporary culture.
Alongside the finished statue, which will stand around 8 feet (243 cm) tall, a number of smaller 20 inch (50 cm) limited edition scale models and 8 inch (20 cm) scale models from the same mould will also be pro- duced and sold to fund the production of the full-size statue. Once completed, the statue will be exhibited initially in London and then internationally.
Sebastian's boyish yet masculine appearance coupled with a classical look is ideal for a project that not only takes its inspiration from classical sculpture but also reflects the definition of male beauty in the 21st Century.
